Prayer at Tirta Empul Temple

from €50.00

Locals gather to bathe and give prayers at the spouts of spring waters of the Tirta Empul Temple.

Founded approx. 962 AD, during the Warmadewa Dynasty, the temple is a dedication to Vishnu, Hindu god of consciousness. A place virtually free of foreigners, the temple is a place of spiritual purification. The locals will speak their prayers to Vishnu, give him an offering of flowers and/or sweets, before cleansing themselves under the stone spouts.
